File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:RVM placement.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar

Thank you! I just have one quick question. It looks like you've updated some of the molecules with a higher quality image. What program do you use to draw molecules? Right now I'm using ChemDraw 2010 (from the Office Suite), but so far it hasn't given me the best quality images. Do you have any suggestions to make them better quality?

I also use ChemDraw. The version I have is "ChemDraw Ultra 12.0" which is able to export in a variety of file formats. If your version of ChemDraw is able to export in SVG format (File --> Save As --> Save as type), that is preferred. If not, PNG format is fine - but I would recommend enlarging your structure by 5x or so (Object --> Scale --> Scale by 500%) before saving in order to get a higher resolution image. There are also some quite detailed guidelines here: Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Chemistry/Structure drawing. If you don't want to bother drawing structures yourself, there are a few chemists here that routinely fill in chemistry articles with images - so new articles end up getting chemical structures added fairly quickly when needed. There is even a place where you can request specific images: Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry/Image Request. Hope this helps, -- Ed (Edgar181) 20:35, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
