Escrow

I had already posted to the talk page 2 days before I removed it. escrow in eve as it is, shares next to nothing with real life Escrow. The Escrow system in eve is a marketplace for items that either arent allowed on the normal marketplace, or high value items where they want to get max coverage of potential buyers. It is basically just a galaxy wide marketplace, it has no common features with the concept of escrow.

While I do believe there may have been one(or several) corps that offered escrow service, sadly the issue of trust is something that is hard to overcome in MMO's(unless you're a bank).

There is no third party, if you argue that the game mechanic of the item being removed from your posessions and not re-appearing until it's sold(or fails to sell) counts as a third party, then the normal marketplace is as much an escrow system as eve's escrow system. Likewise the Auction House system in WoW would be escrow, as would the marketplace in any online game I've found. The EVE system is simply a game mechanic to facilitate players not being online 24/7 and not wanting to sit at the station the goods they are trying to sell all day, as well as the buyer not wanting to have to pick the item he has just bought immediately.

Eve's escrow is simply a free marketplace with no limits to what you can sell, how you sell it, where you sell it and for how much.

Can you list any differences between the normal market and the escrow market that would define one as escrow and one not as escrow and any reason to mention that eve's escrow system is based on real life escrow instead of eve's marketplace being based on real life escrow? --89.100.1.161 22:25, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

EVE Online

We've received the permissions at the Foundation for the images you've uploaded to be released to GFDL. Please provide a list of the images in question and I'll make sure that the Image pages reflect this.

Preferably, since these images are now GFDL, Feel free to upload them to Wikimedia Commons in order that they be used at other language projects as well, such as the French Wikipedia which does not allow Fair Use images. You may want to mention that the ticket has been filed with the OTRS system in order that there be no issue with other Commons users before I or another OTRS agent can apply changes to the image files.

Hello, thanks for informing me about this here are the images:

I did not upgrade all of them myself, some of them were uploaded by Wikipedians I however have been liaising with Valerie Massey of CCP regarding re-licensing the images in the article. -- Richard Slater (Talk to me!) 18:48, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I've made the changes to the image pages. Unfortunately, this only applies to these seven images. If we could get a blanket statement about all screenprints, however, we'd be able to create a template indicating this for any future images. Thanks again.
