Thank you for uploading File:Uss aloe houghton.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

I'm sorry, but the site you added as a "reference" is just a mirror of the Wikipedia page itself. This means it's not a reliable source per WP:RS; you can see specific information about circular sources at WP:CIRCULAR. Please note that I'm not, as you said in your edit summary, "being a dick"; I'm merely following Wikipedia policy in requiring that info on WP articles be verified, an issue which is especially important for any info about living people. Sorry, my mistake, I didn't notice the one properly referenced person in that list. That restoration was correct. However, calling me a "dick" and "priggish" is not only incorrect (all I'm doing is trying to follow Wikipedia's rules), it's a borderline personal attack, which is expressly forbidden by WP:NPA. So please stop--continuing such attacks will inevitably result in you being blocked.

Finally, if you are editing on behalf of the school or its alumni association, then you should probably stop doing so, or at least being extremely careful if you do. Our policy on conflicts of interest says that anyone with a COI should has to be very cautious in editing to be sure that their edits follow all of our policies. Note that this page is not "for" or a "part of" Bothell High School, and the school and alumni association have no say in how the page will look. They (and you) are more than welcome to make suggestions or even edits so long as they are acceptable, but you/they can't attempt to force the page to follow your own preferences. Are you aware of the definition of priggishness? A prig (pronounced /ˈprɪɡ/, sometimes spelled prigg) is a word people use to describe someone they believe shows an inordinately zealous approach to matters of form and propriety--especially where the prig has the ability to show superior knowledge to those who do not know the protocol. They see little need to consider the feelings or intentions of others, relying instead on established order and rigid rules to resolve all questions.

Priggish-ness can be viewed as a symptom of institutionalisation, whether it be in politics, the armed forces or public school.

I have just edited the Bothell HS article for numerous small issues: the fact that they may appear trivial or unimportant to you does not alter the need for them to be addressed. I hope that you and/or others can do so & I am happy to clarify any issues which you may have regarding the whys and wherefores.

However, insulting people here will get you nowhere. You appear to be a new-ish editor and Qxyrxian is far from being that. There are policies and guidelines at Wikipedia, just as there are at Bothell HS. I wonder if the school would be quite so amenable to someone abusing a fellow member and showing an apparent unwillingness to learn? Your comment about prigs is misplaced: although you may not realise it, Qwyrxian is actually pretty laid back compared to many contributors here.

We are all new once and we all learn both from others and from our own mistakes. I suggest that you start doing just that. If you cannot or do not then perhaps this is not the place for you. - Sitush (talk) 09:12, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Good improvements

I came to thank you for the great additions with sources to the alumni section. I made some technical changes to the references to make it display cleaner. If you want to use that same article to add more people (I see it has more listed, although not all of them really qualify for the WP article), you can add <ref name=pnw/> instead of giving the whole URL again. I came to do all this, and was almost dissuaded by your comments above...but, c'est la vie. Apologies if you thought I was overbearing or harsh in some way. Wikipedia has a steep learning curve; the best thing is just to accept that whatever you do here, someone else is likely to change, add to, or even remove it--that's the nature of collaborative editing.
