Re: Donnie Davies

[edit]

I'd wait for an admin to come along and close the DRV before starting a new AFD. I can't close the DRV since I took part in it, so it may be a day or two before that happens. --Coredesat 05:29, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the edits to the Davies article. It needed the addition of those references to address the notability/verifiability criticisms in the AfD. Gerta 15:28, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE Deletion of Donnie Davies

[edit]

I've looked at your changes and have now changed my vote to Keep, as you've now added adequate third-party sources. Walton monarchist89 18:22, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

JoeMyGod post

[edit]

Thanks for the input on the Donnie Davies article. I haven't had time to contribute much to it beyond a minor edit or two, but it looks much better. Is there a reason you think the earlier post about not knowing how to work wikipedia came from JoeMyGod? I do think his demand for attribution is a little self-serving, although I guess at least he didn't just go in and do it himself. But according to the history, the earlier, whiny post appears to have derived from a Navy IP address in San Diego, and I think Joe is from NYC. He did neglect to sign the later post, but his account is there in the history, and only for that edit. Gerta 20:57, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, my local host search and a remote WHOIS both gave navy sources for that IP. As you pointed out, the routing can make it difficult to know for sure. But all the more reason it might be safer to assume good faith by Joe (?).
As for the hoax evidence, I looked through the references in the article, and I still can't find anything for the lack of scripture or the stereotypical dress/behaviors. I didn't notice when I posted my discussion comment that the circularity of the websites is indeed properly referenced, so at least that's solid. But these other 2 points are driving me a little crazy, because I feel like I read them somewhere that could be referenced. I'll keep an eye out, and if I catch it I'll add the reference(s). Maybe the discussion page will jog someone else's memory.
It looks like this whole Davies thing may finally come to light soon. JoeMyGod seems to have flushed Davies/Oglesby out of his hole at least a little bit, and comments from his publicist sound intentionally vague: Wash Blade "Action Alert". Gerta 04:29, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:HighWindJamaica.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HighWindJamaica.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:49, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Angel

[edit]

Just wanted to say your reason for not wanting to merge the Angel episodes was very well articulated. Do you have the time to improve one or two of the episodes to prove it can be done? I was thinking about fixing up, say "Waiting in the Wings" or "The Girl in Question". Kweeket 18:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've never watched the episodes you suggested. I can help out, but I really wouldn't know where to start. Let me know how I can, and I can take it from there. I have a strong reluctance to edit anything where some like BigNole seemingly spends the entire life willing their way across the articles with timeless devotion. --SquatGoblin 22:46, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
I made todo lists on the discussion pages for "You're Welcome", "To_Shanshu_in_L.A.", and "There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb" if you want to look those over. Mostly it involves scanning the references I listed and adding in production details and reception and reviews, which are elements that most of the Angel articles currently lack. Thanks! Unspecified source for Image:MirthGirth.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MirthGirth.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:10, 14 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 09:10, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
