Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --TheBestPeople9 (talk) 07:51, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We have been flagged for copyright of text on our very own website. We own the website https://sites.google.com/view/the-best-people/home and took our mission statement from there for our Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheBestPeople9 (talkcontribs) November 11, 2021 (UTC)

The website https://sites.google.com/view/the-best-people is "§ Copyright © The Best People 2021 All Rights Reserved ® §" Wikipedia cannot use it unless it is released for public use. Read the above warning to see how to confirm your identity and donate copyrighted material.
But that's not the only problem:
  1. The material is promotional and should not be on Wikipedia. Userspace is not free webspace for you to use to promote your site.
  2. User accounts are only to be used by a single person. Since you are using "we" you appear to be sharing this account.
  3. Your user name appears to promotional. Bob at TheBestPeople would be acceptable, but not simply the name of the group. Meters (talk) 08:01, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --TheBestPeople9 (talk) 08:08, 11 November 2021 (UTC) 1. The text we posted DID NOT have a link to the site and was not promoting it. The text was an introduction and did was not promoting anything. 2. We use we because we have Dissociative identity disorder and we want to be referred to as such 3. The Best People is our name. Please respect that. We are not part of a group! The website has been "donated" to Wikipedia, if that helps. We own the site and all information and text on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheBestPeople9 (talkcontribs) 08:08, November 11, 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No you didn't post a link to the page, but it does not have to have a link to be a problem. It's webhosting. The text is clearly promoting the group TheBestPeople. It is a verbatim copy of the copyrighted material from the webpage (it took me only a few seconds to find the page). Your user page has been reported as being webhosting and a copyright violation. Your username has been reported as a violation as a promotional user name. We'll see what the admins who deal with this think. Meters (talk) 08:29, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. —Cryptic 09:49, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
