Proposed deletion of Blink-182 6th Studio Album[edit]

The article Blink-182 6th Studio Album has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lacks references to 3rd party sources. Lacks title, see WP:HAMMER

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 17:38, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

August 2009[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope that I don't seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: appears to be promotional in nature. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your views, for instance, your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

There are several options available to you:

  • We can talk about it, here.
  • You can abandon the contributions made under this name and create a new account that meets our username policy and addresses the concern(s) noted above.
  • Or, if you want to keep your contributions history under a new name, then you should visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the instructions there.

If we can't resolve this on our own, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process. Thanks. RadioFan (talk) 17:39, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand what is wrong with my username. I chose it cos its a name of a blink-182 album, and i am a fan of blink. plus i think the username sounds coolThe mark tom and travis show (talk) 17:41, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think the problem is that for people unfamiliar with the album, it reads like the name of a TV show, webcast, or the like. Since you've not written any articles about such a program, I don't think it's a problem. Using the name of the album could be an issue, but in my opinion, it's not problematic. —C.Fred (talk) 19:57, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Lorna Fitzgerald. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. WuhWuzDat 19:11, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lorna Fitzgerald[edit]

Because what you are adding is unsourced, everything you add to living person Bios has to be cited from third party references. Also you were using non-specific, generalised time phrasing, like "soon" and "currently", which is not useful because if they article is never updated in 1 year's time it would still say she is "currently in year 8, soon to be in year 9" and that would be wrong. Plus, it is not particularly useful to say in the article what school year she is in. Any reader can work that out by her age. It's nothing personal and removing it was not meant to offend you in any way.GunGagdinMoan 20:46, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

i do not understand why i have been blocked and why the page i wrote whas been deleted. there were some queries with my username as some admins thought it was promotional, but after discussion with those admins they decided it was ok. however, apparently that wasnt what i was blocked for, instead i was blocked because someone thought i was a sockpuppet, which i am not. i dont know why they thought this and would like to know why they think i am a sockpuppet and would like to be unblocked so i can contribute to blink 182 articles

Decline reason:

As Luna said below, it appears as though you're the same person as was using other accounts identified as a banned user based on technical evidence. Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:04, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Given that several of those are blocked as sockpuppets of "Ln of x", it seems safe to say that you might have some more explaining to do. – Luna Santin (talk) 20:08, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I knew I was right, thanks for confirming, Luna. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 20:58, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
