License tagging for Image:Africa 2 December 327.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Africa 2 December 327.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:05, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Liberia National Excellence Award requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File copyright problem with File:KimmieWeeks-06.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:KimmieWeeks-06.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 03:16, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:YAI color-1.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:YAI color-1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.
  • If you believe the bot has made an error, please turn it off here and leave a message on my owner's talk page.

File permission problem with File:WeeksRecent.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:WeeksRecent.jpg, which you've attributed to "Rights to use granted". I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 18:06, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Kimmie Weeks official photo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of https://www.kqwedphoto.com/commercial_photography/ and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. April 2024[edit]

Information icon

Hello Weeks4kids. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Kimmie Weeks, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Weeks4kids. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Weeks4kids|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Whpq (talk) 02:45, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am not receiving nor do I expect to receive any compensation for edits to this page or any other page on wikipedia, now, or in the past. I am simply trying to update the information because it is outdated. NO compensation has been received and no compensation will be received for doing this. Weeks4kids (talk) 04:02, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you are not affiliated with this individual, could you please explain how you took this close-up, clearly posed photograph of him? Seraphimblade Talk to me 05:08, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The comment left, which I responded to was: "The nature of your edits...gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic" It went further to ask if i was "not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits." My response was to state that I have not been, and will not be compensated for any edits. This is a true statement as I am volunteering my time and have not been compensated in any way no will i be compensated. I do not work for a an ad agency or a promotion agency. Weeks4kids (talk) 05:29, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The question was rather asking how you got the photograph. Did you take it? When? WhoAteMyButter (🌷talk🌻contribs) 05:38, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I took the photo. Weeks4kids (talk) 06:06, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
am i allowed to make edits now? The only thing i am trying to do is to: 1. upload a more recent photo as the featured photo was almost 10 years old. 2. remove internal links on words so they don't come out in red. 3. remove positions which he does not currently hold. Weeks4kids (talk) 10:18, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Based upon your username and editing history, you almost certainly need to read about editing with a conflict of interest. Specifically, you should not be directly editing mainspace about anything regarding this individual (including his projects, where you already wrote a promotional article which I deleted). For proposing a new article, you would write a draft and use the articles for creation process. If you want to suggest edits to an existing article, read the link I just provided for instructions on doing that. But you already put a lot of promotional material into the article about this person too; that rather illustrates why editors with a COI shouldn't directly edit things like that, but should instead have someone without a conflict review their proposals. It makes it very difficult to stay neutral, and to stick only to facts confirmed by published reliable and independent sources rather than relying on personal knowledge or the like, but those things are required. Seraphimblade Talk to me 12:30, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hope Farm Fund, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
