May 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 04:55, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. See Help:Referencing for beginners and Help:footnotes. This is covered by the Wikipedia policy of wp:verifiability (WP:V). Please wp:cite your edits with wp:reliable sources (RS). Per WP:V unsourced content can be removed. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 04:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Membership of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://cpsp.edu.pk/mcps.php. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Regarding your note on my talk page[edit]

Irregardless of your credentials, you need to add references. See above.
Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 09:20, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 10:57, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

See wp:images for correct image formatting. Don't remove sourced content without explaining why in the wp:edit summary. Jim1138 (talk) 10:58, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of conflict of interest[edit]

Given your messages on my talk page here, you have a conflict of interest. Please read and understand wp:paid. You need to make a disclosure. I would suggest on user:Zahid Ali Siddiqui
Information icon Hello, Zahid Ali Siddiqui. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 20:22, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of copyright issues with your image uploaded on Commons[edit]

Looking over your images, I see that you have released them as "Own work". Most if not all appear to be from cpsp.edu.pk This is in violation of copyright law. I requested they all be delete as copyright violations. See Commons:Deletion requests/Files of User:Zahid Ali Siddiqui You need to get a release from the image owner and submit it. See Wikipedia:Contact us - Licensing and Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. Note that photos released to Wikimedia are essentially made public domain and the college may not want to release them as such.

You appear to be uploading copyrighted images of others as your "own work". See Commons:Deletion requests/Files of User:Zahid Ali Siddiqui, wp:Image use policy, and wp:Copyright violations. Please understand that you can be wp:blocked for repeated violations. Jim1138 (talk) 20:22, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bad edits[edit]

Regarding your request for examples. The last two groups of edits have issues.

  • these edits You did not cite any sources for the "history" nor "Founding President of CPSP" sections. The article is about the college, not the founder, so the "Founding President of CPSP" section gives wp:UNDUE weight. Given the size of the article, the founder should be limited to a short mention. The images are not correctly formatted: their size is way to large. They should be "thumb". People can click on them to enlarge them.
  • these edits You removed sourced content without giving an explanation and added a huge image which is not acceptable per wp:manual of style.

Jim1138 (talk) 20:22, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice[edit]

Your editing is becoming wp:disruptive. Please bring your edits inline with wp:policy and wp:manual of style. Look at other good articles of medical colleges and follow their style. Possible examples that come to mind: Stanford University School of Medicine, Mayo Graduate School, Harvard Medical School. The article College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan is on Wikimedia servers, and is not the property of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Please bear that in mind. Jim1138 (talk) 20:22, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know, I really did not appreciate taking all that time to request all of your images be deleted. Jim1138 (talk) 21:03, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained removal of sourced content[edit]

You removed wp:cited content and replaced it with a potentially self-serving wp:primary source. Don't do that without good reason: Wikipedia:Content removal Jim1138 (talk) 06:21, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The material you added was copied directly from the school's website, and thus was a copyright violation. Please don't add copyright material to this wiki. Copyright law and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policy. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:41, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Diannaa: I don't think Zahid Ali Siddiqui understands the issues here. Please note the message on my talk page and my deletion request on commons: C:Commons:Deletion requests/Files of User:Zahid Ali Siddiqui. Little, if any, response by Zahid Ali Siddiqui to my talk, repeating mistakes. One question about why I was reverting edits on my talk page, but no other requests for assistance. This has been quite frustrating. Jim1138 (talk) 17:48, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zahid Ali Siddiqui. I am Diannaa and I am an administrator on this wiki. There are two problems with your submission. You cannot post copyright material on Wikipedia even if you have permission of the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. That is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, and all content must have the appropriate documentation in place before that can happen. Please see Wikipedia:donating copyrighted materials which explains how it works. The same applies to the photos you uploaded to the Commons; the copyright holder must in writing release the images under a compatible license.

The second problem is conflict of interest. Writing an article about your own organisation or that of a client is strongly discouraged, as it is difficult to maintain the required neutral point of view. According to our terms of use, paid editors and people editing on behalf of their employer are required to disclose their conflict of interest by posting a notice on their user page or talk page. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:56, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Zahid Ali Siddiqui,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Zahid Ali Siddiqui - Web Developer / Designer should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zahid Ali Siddiqui - Web Developer / Designer .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Zahid Ali Siddiqui - Web Developer / Designer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. MT TrainTalk 16:29, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
