WLAN (1390 AM, "Timeless Classics") is a radio station licensed to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. and licensed to Clear Channel Broadcasting Licenses, Inc. It airs a classic hits music format.[1]
The station was assigned the WLAN call letters by the Federal Communications Commission.[2]
The station was originally owned by The Altdoerffer Family of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Today WLAN & WLAN-FM are owned by Clear Channel Communications.
In January 1948, the Federal Communications Commission authorized WLAN to change from 1 KW (daytime only) to 1 KW (fulltime), concurrent with a change in frequency from 1320 KHz to 1390 KHz.[3]
On January 4, 2010, WLAN changed its format from adult standards to classic hits. As of February 7, 2012, the station had switched to a conservative talk format, including Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and other national performers, plus Harrisburg's own RJ Harris & Bob Durgin. Its programming relays WHP, Harrisburg.
