This WikiProject is an attempt to expand and create articles about Prescott-Russell United Counties in Ontario, Canada.

Scope[edit]

This WikiProject aims primarily to expand and create community-driven articles about Prescott-Russell United Counties.

Goals[edit]

  1. Expand existing articles in the Prescott and Russell United Counties, Ontario category AND in the Embrun, Ontario category.
  2. Expand all stubs in the Prescott and Russell United Counties, Ontario category.
  3. Create articles on communities that do not have pages in Wikipedia.

Structure[edit]

Motivation[edit]

Prescott-Russell topics are poorly covered on Wikipedia, with most communities having stub or start class articles (with the exception of the Embrun article, which is perhaps Class B, or just below GA status), and many topics do not have any article whatsoever, and the quality of articles relating to the county is relatively low, with many articles not living up to Wikipedia standards. Although many of the articles have been fixed for greater verifiability and non-bias, the articles are no where near high-quality, however (again, with the exception of Embrun article, which is probably medium-quality).

Tasks[edit]

Expanding Articles[edit]

  • Expanding the following pages:
  1. The Libertarian Party
  2. Embrun Panthers
  3. Embrun Airport
  4. Alfred
  5. Bourget
  6. Rockland
  7. Vankleek Hill

Collaboration[edit]

August[edit]

Translation: A lot of focus will be on translating pages into various languages to provide a multilingual resource on Prescott-Russell. The French Wikipedia has lots of priority in this translation process, but that does not mean that this "translation collaboration" is going to exclusively work on the French language.

  • Translating every Prescott and Russell article page into French.

September[edit]

Ice hockey teams: During this month, we plan to expand articles relating to Ice Hockey Teams in Prescott-Russell. Pretty much every article about an ice-hockey team in Prescott-Russell is a stub, and we want to expand them as part of our plan to expand stubs relating to Prescott-Russell.

  • Expanding the following pages:
  1. Embrun Panthers
  2. Casselman Stars
  3. Rockland Nationals
  4. Saint-Isidore Eagles
  5. Vankleek Hill Cougars
  6. Hawkesbury Hawks
  7. Clarence Castors

October[edit]

Creating articles about communities: Many communities in Prescott-Russell do not have articles on Wikipedia. By the end of the month, we hope that every community in Prescott-Russell (or at least all the major ones listed at [1]) will have their own article.

November[edit]

History: Out of the articles about communities in Prescott-Russell, only Embrun has a section with a lot of history. Hawkesbury has some details, but not a lot. The history of our region is something that few know about, and spreading what little knowledge we can find is a good objective. That is why we should try and write details about the histories of communities.

  • Adding "History" sections on pages about communities in Prescott-Russell and placing details about that community's history in that section.
