Phys.org[edit]

Why has the website Phys.org been blacklisted? It is authoritative and it has a specific WP article. 151.38.251.187 (talk) 17:19, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

According to the WP article, "Phys.org is one of the most updated science websites, with an average of 98 posts per day." Even if it makes use of churnalism, it is an updated source of informations, which are usually corroborated by direct interviews to scientists, researchers, first and senior authors of the published studies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.82.99.76 (talk) 20:04, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can tell it isn't blacklisted. MrOllie (talk) 20:06, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Let me check: https://phys.org/. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 04:41, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is definitely not blacklisted. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 04:42, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Where's the list?[edit]

OK, I get sent here because some URL is on some list. Where is the blacklist?--Smokefoot (talk) 21:46, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mali Ministry of Health website[edit]

I have tried to add http://www.sante.gov.ml/index.php/2020-04-10-10-35-43/les-ministeres-du-mali and http://www.sante.gov.ml/index.php/2020-04-10-10-35-43/2014-11-11-13-16-01, to the articles Fanta Siby and Ministry of Public Health and Hygiene (Mali). I get a message telling me that the site is blacklisted and that the link causing a problem is .ml/index.php/2020-04-10-10-35-43/2014-11-11-13-16-01, but I can't see anything with "ml" on either of the spam lists so I'm baffled. Advice, please. This whole area is new to me as I usually edit about women novelists or English hills or villages, and don't often encounter controversial sources. This appears to be a false positive triggered by the rule
.*\.(ga|cf|ml|gq|online|site)/.*?\d{4,5}[-/]\d{1,2}[-/]\d{1,2}.*
which was added by MER-C back in 2016. MER-C, could you see if this could be refined to avoid such false positives? --Paul_012 (talk) 13:42, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. MER-C 09:34, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MER-C@Paul 012Thanks - articles now upgraded to include the sources. Does this mean that every other site from Mali is also blacklisted, I wonder? PamD 10:44, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, it only blocks those with a particular format containing digits and dashes. MER-C 11:53, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MER-C That's good to know. I just hit unlucky with the innocuous government pages I was wanting to cite! PamD 16:37, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
