Background
The development of Turboprop Flight Simulator started in 2015, Alexandru Petre started to make a Flight Simulator for FOG Games[1] that flight simulator was AircraftSim, otherwise know as 747 Flight Simulator[2]
It consisted of a Boeing 747 20 levels/misions, and a Freeflight Mode. There's not 100% safe if this game influenced the development of TFS, but some persons thinks that the game its related with TFS. The Flight Simulator was discontinued by FOG in 2019, it recieved a total of 2 updates throughout its life.
One year later, 2016, Alexandru make the second flight simulator made for FOG, named: Warplane Flight Simulator, it consisted of a Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, 20 levels/missions and a Freeflight Mode. However it may not been free, since it had a peicw point before it was removed from the Google Play. As well as being more popular than the 747 Flight Simulator.
This game has 7 islands, more than TFS and 747FS combined. This Flight Simulator was discontinued in 2016, the amount of updates it recieved is unknown, but according to some website its latest version is 1.13.4. Meaning that Alex. Petre might have put some time into this game, unlike 747FS. Even though this game was short lived, it stilll has some players to this day. Who mainly came from TFS.
TFS Betas
The first publicy avaible TFS version was 0.87. It was released in April 1st, 2017. There was a total of 4 public beta versions, 0.87, 0.88, 0.89 and 0.9. None of these versions have a known downloadable file for us to try out, but there are a couple of videos showcasing them on YouTube. The TFS 1.0 was released in April 19, 2017. That version along with the public betas remain inavailable to this day. Alexandru has had diffilculties advertising TFS during its first month being released, however it then became a huge success.
"After production release, i tried to promote the game with Facebook ads. So, I tried an ad campaign for 5 euros which ran for 2 days, and althoungh it reached almost 3000 people and did cause a noticeable "bump" in the number of downloads, it didn't lead to a sustained increase in numbers, and as soon as the campaign expired, so did that "bump". Overall it wasn't worth it at all, but it was just 5 Euros that I lost and not 500. After that, I gave up on the promotion attempts.
In the first month after production release, the game didn't received much attention, and its install rates were rather pathetic, but were actually growing slowly and exponentially. On average, in the first week it would get like 12 downloads a day, then the next week 30/day, then 90/day, then 500/day, so eventually it reached a sustained average of about 12,000/day (with a one time maximum of 30,459/day)."
