The IIc is "related" because it technically *IS* an Apple IIe, just in a portable form with built-in devices. The IIGS is an entirely different architecture and machine with backwards compatibility. The IIGS was closest, but Apple prevented it). On a side note, how is the Lisa the IIe's successor if they were released at the SAME time? That makes absolutely no sense.
