  • curprev 20:1920:19, 4 October 2023 Samilo78 talk contribs m 12,739 bytes +46 This article claims that the term Balkanization was coined in the early 19th century; the only citation it provides for the sentence of this claim is Pringle 2016, from Encyclopedia Britannica. However, Pringle 2016 says (I quote) ``It was coined at the end of World War I to describe the ethnic and political fragmentation that followed the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, particularly in the Balkans.'' This article's 19th-century claim contradicts its source! undo
