It uses that if some we have rationals (p/q)(u/v) = a0/an then p|a0 and q|an, which is false. Take for example (3/4)(4/9)=1/3, but 3 does not divide 1 and 4 does not divide 9. For the proof to work we'll need to know that p/q is a factor of a0/an in the sense that p/q * k = a0/an for some INTEGER k, but that may be is not the case here. undo
