  • curprev 21:3621:36, 3 July 2024LegesFundamentales talk contribs 28,351 bytes +599 Note to editors on my proposed general outline. We really need to bring structure to this article, or it'll turn into a list of government branches / taxonomy of individual governments again. That's what Draft:branches of government exists for now. undo
  • curprev 21:1621:16, 3 July 2024LegesFundamentales talk contribs 27,752 bytes −24 Three sidebars, each only tangentially related to the article's topic, is at least one too many. It causes visual clutter and muddies the substantive topic of the article. I'm removing the "forms of government" one, since it has the least direct bearing on the separation of powers. While the form of government impacts the s. of p., the connection is not so direct as to justify the inclusion of an entire navbox. In particular, s. of p. is not a sub-topic of "forms of government". undo
  • curprev 21:0921:09, 3 July 2024LegesFundamentales talk contribs 27,776 bytes −3,579 →‎Checks and balances: I believe this bulleted list / table is far too expansive relative to its purpose. Examples such as the U.S. president's veto or the U.S. Congress' budget power suffice to illustrate the U.S. checks-and-balances system – an example that is itself only supposed to be illustrative of checks and balances as a whole, itself only somewhat important to the main topic of the article. I think a more discriminating and well-explained paragraph, not a list, is the way to go. undo
  • curprev 20:5620:56, 3 July 2024LegesFundamentales talk contribs 31,355 bytes −62 To prevent concentrations of power is necessarily the purpose of any normative principle of power distribution. But that the creation of checks and balances is the intended way for the separation of powers to de-concentrate power is not demonstrated in the body of the article; so the lead should not state it. Indeed, separation of powers and systems of checks and balances are two different ways to accomplish power distribution (granted, they are closely related phenomena). undo
  • curprev 20:3120:31, 3 July 2024LegesFundamentales talk contribs 31,417 bytes −51,565 →‎Systems used by countries: This section is being split off into its own article, "branches of government", in accordance with the consensus reached on the article's talk page on 19 June 2024 on the scope of the separation of powers article. User:Mrfoogles has transferred the (salvageable) content of this section to Draft:Branches of government already, so all that remains to be done is to delete it from this article. I will re-do the minor edits performed here since. undo
