Hello and welcome. History, religion, monarchy, politics, geography, philosophy, economics, law, sport, art and music are all areas of interest to me, but I mainly edit articles on, or associated with, American and British politics and sport. I'm a conservative, and therefore, within the realms of Wikipedia, a bit of a rebel. I enjoy the Reformation period, and enjoy reading about, and editing articles on figures and literature associated with that period. Some of these figures include William Tyndale, John Foxe, Martin Luther, John Calvin and others. I am also particularly interested in the English monarchy and aristocracy from the time of Henry VIII onwards.

I've significantly improved or started some articles, albeit under different accounts in years gone by. Some of these include:
*Michał Kamiński
*Several Dropkick Murphys albums
*Joy Division
*2008 Six Nations Championship
*Thierry Henry
*Anne Feeney

*Cohen (surname)

Christ is with us until the world’s end. Let his little flock be bold therefore. For if God be on our side, what matter maketh it who be against us, be they bishops, cardinals, popes, or whatsoever names they will? — William Tyndale

For anyone wondering "why 'SE7'?", it comes from the London postcode for the football team I support, Charlton Athletic. It was a good idea at the time.

Faults of Wikipedia

I occasionally become deeply depressed by the way Wikipedia works. The main cause of this is what happens when I try to correct a blatant error regarding somebody's nationality. Let's take an example. Oscar Wilde was born in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, an entity which lasted from 1801 until after the First World War. Yet, take a look at Wilde's page, and you will see that his birth, in Dublin, in 1854, was not in fact, in the then-UK, but in Ireland. His nationality was/is not British, as it would have been throughout his life, but "Irish", despite no such nationality existing for many years before or after his birth. The people who are to blame for this lie are Irish Wikipedians and American (mostly Irish-American) Wikipedians, who do not like the fact almost all famous historical Irishmen were born and raised under the flag of Britain. The response by the Wikipedia community to them ought to be "too bad", but instead, they mass-edit and get their way, and will continue to. People defend this perverse trend as being due to a person's right to self-determination, and so on, but is that really good enough? If I was famous and had my own Wikipedia article, I wouldn't expect to be listed as Peruvian, just because I "feel" Peruvian, I would expect to be listed as British, because that's what I legally am. In fact it's all I legally am, the same as British was all Oscar Wilde was. And, to the people who ritually smear me and my comrades in nationality-correcting, as "English imperialist(s)" etc, it doesn't work. I'm half Irish, and much of my family live in the United States of America (not to mention the fact that the "English Empire", to all intents and purposes, didn't exist, and the Scots, Welsh and Irish were equally as imperialist within the British Empire, if not more, than the English, as any educated person with a vague interest in reality would know). Another argument seems to be that "nationality" is actually "ethnicity". That's fine, but then go and insist on the same standards for all British people. Go and correct every biography to "English", "Welsh" or "Scottish".
