3rd Separate Assault Brigade Azov (MUN A4638) is a mechanized assault brigade that was formed on November 1st, 2022 during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Formed in coordination with the Azov Regiment, the Ukrainian Ground Forces created the 3rd Assault Brigade as a full combat brigade that consists of three assault battalion, a tank battalion, artillery brigade group, and support units. The unit's roots trace from the 3rd Company Azov of the 98th Territorial Defense Battalion.[1][unreliable source?]

This brigade, created on the basis of the SSO Azov, is one of the fully fledged brigade of Ukrainian Ground Forces newly activated. The brigade consists of three assault battalions, a tank battalion (T-90s, T-72s), an artillery group and combat and service support elements. The 3rd Assault Brigade Azov is currently deployed to the area of Bakhmut. The brigade is forming a second TERRA unit.[2][unreliable source?]
