Miss Universe 2008, the 57th Miss Universe beauty pageant. Official confirmation on the host city and pageant date will be made soon by Miss Universe Organization. It is expected that over 90 countries will participate, and more than 20 nations will return to or will make their first appearance in Miss Universe after failing to send their delegates in Miss Universe 2007. All contestants are unconfirmed until they arrive at the venue.
Host city selection news
Shortly after Riyo Mori was crowned Miss Universe 2007 in Mexico City, she and Donald Trump held a brief press conference in which he mentioned that there is a pretty good chance that Miss Universe 2008 will be held in Tokyo, Japan. However, he also added that Moscow and Beijing are also bidding to host.
