Personal life

Zuniga shared a house in Los Angeles with Meg Ryan when both were struggling actresses.[citation needed]

Zuniga was a victim of mercury poisoning, which was the direct result of her daily consumption of fish. As a result, the actress suffered from weak memory, headaches, crying spells, skin rashes and low grade depression. Since meeting with many doctors, Zuniga has stopped consuming fish in the mid-1980s. Zuniga admits eating sushi four times a week prior to her mercury poisoning problem. As part of her strategy to clean her body of mercury, the actress drinks shakes rich in protein (specifically with glutathione).[2]

Up until about 2002, Zuniga rode a Harley Davidson motorcycle in her spare time. She has been quoted as having sold it a "few years ago." She was also said to have allowed the body piercing through her navel to heal, attributing both those events in her life to "latent adolescence." Zuniga has also devoted a good amount of time promoting awareness about the earth, and campaigns to help keep it clean.[citation needed]
