Plainfield North High School, or PNHS, is a public four-year high school located in Plainfield, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, which also includes Plainfield Central High School, Plainfield South High School and Plainfield East High School.
History
Plainfield North was the third high school to be built in Plainfield, Illinois. It opened in the beginning of the 2005-06 school year for only incoming freshman and sophomores. It will gradually add juniors and seniors and became a four year high school for the 2007-08 school year.
Academics
Plainfield North will begin ACT testing in April 2007, and test results along with the Illinois School Report Card will be available shortly thereafter. Plainfield North will graduate its first class in 2008, upon which graduation rates will be made available.
Athletics
Plainfield North competes in the Southwest Prairie Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the White Tiger. The school's football program (including the head coach, assistant coaches and principal) were sanctioned for violations of Illinois High School Association by-laws in September 2006.[1] The girls volleyball team won the school's first conference championship in the fall of 2006.
The Boy's and Girl's Varsity Cross Country teams were the first teams in school history to qualify for Sectionals when both teams placed 4th at the 3A Minooka Regional on October 20, 2007.
The 4x100 relay consisting of Jinks Arnold, Dominique Ware, Chester Bryant, and Jacob Arnold, was the first ever relay to qualify for state in 2007. With alternatives.
Jacob Arnold was also the first PNHS student to win a medal at state.
The 2007-2008 boys Freshman Football team was the first Football team to win Confrence at PNHS. The A team went 8-1-0 as the B team went 8-0-1.
The 2006-2007 Boys Freshman Soccer team were the first soccer team to record a win on the stadium. They were also the first soccer team to win Conference.
The varsity football team won their first ever home opener on August 25, 2007 28-12 over Joliet Township.
On October 5, 2007, the varsity football team blew out rival Plainfield South 24-0

Bands

During the 2006-2007 season, the marching tigers won their first marching band award when the drumline, led by captain Nick Bartalone, placed first at the Metamora parade and field festival.
Past IMEA participants include Dan Marsiglio, Adam Krause, Chelsea Lewis, Nick Djohn, and Alex Seggebruch.
The tigers toured New York in the spring of 2007.
