Jump SQ. (ジャンプスクエア Janpu Sukuea) is a Japanese brand new shōnen manga magazine that debuted on November 2 2007 by SHUEISHA, Inc.

History

The magazine was originally made to replace Monthly Shonen Jump due to lack of income. Four series from the magazine Tegamibachi, Rosario + Vampire, Claymore, and Gag Manga Biyori were serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine until the start Jump SQ. Before Jump SQ.'s official run, 12 back-up issues made in 2007 featured characters from some of the newest series. The 12th back-up issue was declared the very first issue with Embalming -The Another Tale of Frankenstein- on the cover. Right after the Embalming issue, (at the very end of 2007) the 2008 issues started. Like every other manga magazine the Issue number restarted; so far there are only 3 issues for 2008. The series Mahō-Tsukai Kurohime which formerly was serialized as a manga series in Monthly Jump; continued on the magazine's website as an Online Manga.
