Chelsea Brady (born onscreen as Georgia Brady on May 22, 1998, in Louisiana) is a character on the television drama Days of our Lives. Since her introduction into the show in 2004, Chelsea has been portrayed by Mandy Musgrave and Rachel Melvin.

Character history

Chelsea is the long-lost daughter of Billie Reed and Bo Brady, who was initially buried in the bayou as Georgia Brady in May 1988. The truth came out when Chelsea Benson's adopted parents were killed in a car accident and blood tests revealed her true lineage. Billie immediately stepped in to care for Chelsea, who opted to keep the last name Benson. Since 2006, Chelsea changed her last name to Brady, her biological father's last name.

As Abby Deveraux's best friend, Chelsea has been a bad influence. She's encouraged Abby to smoke, drink, and lie often to her mother. She's also had a few driving incidents, including having her license revoked. Of course, the most serious accident resulted in the death of Zack Brady - her half-brother, whom she hit while she was text messaging and driving simultaneously, thus incurring the wrath of Hope Brady and half-brother Shawn Brady.

Chelsea was involved with Max Brady, who kept Chelsea's secret about accidentally killing Zack. Chelsea's also been obsessed with older men including Patrick Lockhart, who was conveniently staying at Abby's house. Seeing Billie Reed as has her biggest competition, Chelsea hated her, that is, until she learned that Billie was actually her mother.

After all the bad things Chelsea did, she desperately wanted to change. While serving her community service at the hospital, a gloved hand leaves a file for Chelsea to discover. The file said that Claire Kiriakis was not her cousin, the daughter of Philip Kiriakis, but actually her half-niece, Shawn's daughter. Thinking she was doing the right thing, Chelsea left the file in Shawn's cubicle for him to find while he lay unconscious from alcohol poisoning. She felt letting him know he was Claire's father will give him a reason to live.

Belle and Shawn discovered the file when he woke up and they thought the file was fradulent because they did not remember sleeping together. The file was dusted for fingerprints and it was discovered that, apart from Shawn and Belle, Chelsea's were the only other fingerprints on the file. Bo arrested Chelsea, and Max blew up when he found out, immediately dumping her. Bo decided that the only way to prove that Chelsea was guilty was to run the DNA test on Shawn to see if he was Claire's biological father. The tests came back positive and, in this turn of events, the charges were dropped.

Chelsea then went on a quest to get Bo and Billie back together, and consulted her grandmother, Kate Roberts, who encouraged Chelsea to be driven and go after what she wanted. The stress of losing their child had torn apart Bo and Hope and when Hope sent e-mails to Bo expressing her desire for a divorce, Chelsea intercepted the emails and wrote back pretending to be Bo and agreed to the divorce even though Bo was trying to get back together with Hope. When her actions were discovered, Bo and Hope were completely enraged and Bo disowned Chelsea. After many weeks of feeling guilty she talked to her father and with the support of her mother, Billie, she was able to gain back her father's trust and he welcomed her back into his life.

Chelsea was then involved with a mystery lover online by the name of Dr. Shane Patten. She told him all her feelings and her deepest secrets thinking she could trust him. She even went so far as to plan their future together. She got so into him she wanted all the details about him so she got Abby's cousin, Nick Fallon, to find everything out for her. After giving up on Nick finding out information about Patten because Nick wouldn't talk to her, Chelsea finally learned that Dr. Patten was really Nick all along and he was just trying to get her to like him. She was upset and hurt at Nick's actions and completely ended their friendship, saying she could never trust him again.

Things became even worse between the two when Chelsea found out that Nick had slept with her mother when she was drunk and he was depressed over the loss of Chelsea's friendship. She refused to even be in the same room as Nick and moved out of her mother's house and moved in with her father and stepmother. Her mother desperately tried to repair their relationship, but there still remains some tension between the two.

Chelsea found even more problems when her father's house was set on fire. The fire was actually started by Willow Stark, a former prostitute and ex-girlfriend of Shawn Brady, who was hired by EJ Wells to break into the house. The fire was started unintentionally and Willow placed a hairbrush of Chelsea's in the house to try to frame her for the fire. Chelsea panicked at what her father would think considering her past troubles and under the pretense of wanting to rebuild their relationship she convinced Nick, a DNA assistant, to steal the brush in order to keep her father from finding out. Nick felt extremely guilty over his actions and was not completely sure if she was telling the truth about the fire and visited Willow in jail (she was arrested for stealing Hope's jewelry) to try to figure out which version of the fire story was true. Willow stole the hairbrush from Nick, which resulted in Nick trying to get the hairbrush back. Willow died struggling to get the hairbrush back from Nick. Afterwards, Chelsea admitted to her father that she asked Nick to steal the hairbrush from the lab.

It is believed that Chelsea truly does have romantic feelings for Nick, but due to past relationships she has trouble trusting people and has found it hard to forgive Nick, but Nick has stated that he is determined to prove to Chelsea he loves her no matter what it takes together. Chelsea and Nick bond after she is kidnapped in exchange for Atermis and DeMarquette.

Then, Chelsea went on to help have Ford Decker arrested for the rape of her two good friends Cordy and Morgan. Chelsea is not aware that Stephanie was also raped by Ford and has ignored Stephanie's pleas to let Ford be.

Chelsea and the girls created posters depicting Ford as a rapist and has been threatened by him on several occasions. The latest being at the Brady Pub where Nick was forced to defend her.

In November, Chelsea and Nick broke into Ford's dorm to obtain proof that he is indeed the campus rapist. They have pictures that were illegally obtained. Chelsea's father Bo and Stephanie's father Steve were forced to confront Ford. After being appalled by the university's unwillingness to do anything to Ford, the girls lured him into their sorotity house where Chelsea was to be interested in him. The girls drugged his drink but Ford switched the drinks and Chelsea ended up drugged. In a fight on the stairs Ford fell backwards and died. The girls, with the help of Max Brady, buried Ford in the basement of the house.

Most recently, Chelsea's father Bo Brady has been admitted to the hospital for pancreatic issues. Chelsea was found to be a match and was scheduled for a experimental operation to graft some of her pancreas to save Bo. Bo's handsome and earth-friendly doctor, Dr. Daniel Jonas, (who was brough in by Victor Kiriakis) performed the surgery. He and Chelsea have since grown to become friends although Chelsea has constant daydreams of a more intimate relationship.

In April 2008, Chelsea became friends with Max again.
