AfD nomination of List of live-action role-playing groups
I have nominated List of live-action role-playing groups, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of live-action role-playing groups. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. <!-- Template:AFDWarning --> — <font color="Green">Dæ</font>dαlus <font color="Green">Contribs</font> /Improve 08:02, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Seeing as how the page that is linked promotes other websites: Artsandfaith.com - Fascinating art criticism (particularly film) in a POV manner, I believe that would fall under promotional.— <font color="Green">Dæ</font>dαlus <font color="Green">Contribs</font> /Improve 23:43, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Your Rfa closed before I had a chance to respond, but I still wanted to thank you for answering the question in my comment there. I think, given the quality of your article-building history and citation contributions, there is little doubt that you are an excellent editor. If you actually want to be an administrator, I would agree with those opinions that suggest you should first build up a substantial quantity of work in admin areas. Put in a few months of Afd work, then return. A recent body of work at Xfd discussions will far better demonstrate one's practical reasoning than any broad statement of personal philosophy written on the user page (which is open to misinterpretation). Good luck and cheers. <span style="font-family: tahoma;"> — <span style="color:#008000">Cactus</span><span style="color:#CC5500">Writer |</span> <span style="color:#008000">needles</span></span> 09:36, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ioun stones, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the <code>dated prod</code> notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

RE:Bad automated AWB edit to Dave Arneson

Thanks. That one must have slipped by. I don't plan on changing proper names they are what they are. This is one of the reasons spelling correction cann't be automated. Phatom87 (talk contribs) 13:44, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

D&D articles for Wikipedia 0.7

Hi there!  :)

As someone who's worked on D&D and/or RPG articles before, I'm inviting you to participate in our goal to both improve articles that have been selected to be placed in the next Wikipedia DVD release, as well as nominate more to be selected for this project. Please see the WikiProject D&D talk page for more details. :) BOZ (talk) 16:15, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can see that you have put some work into the Gary Gygax article, which I have nominated for a GA review. If there is anything you can do to help it get passed, please join in! Also, feel free to comment on the D&D WikiProject talk page regarding our efforts to get articles in the 0.7 release. BOZ (talk) 03:14, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, no problem.  :) Like I say, you've definitely put all the work into this one, so you deserve more credit than a Johnny-come-lately like me. ;) Seriously though... I get the feeling that this one isn't far from a GA, so probably just some more sourcing (particularly the Works section) should be enough for a push over the line. BOZ (talk) 04:32, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's where we are at! :) BOZ (talk) 14:19, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Alan, I just wanted to let you know that all the hard, long suffering work you put into Gary Gygax really made this into a quality article with lots of potential. This, along with the importance of the subject, is why I wanted to get this one to be a GA-class article; I could even see it being an FA one day. Thanks again for your attention to this article, and if you can help it out in any way, or if you see anything I'm doing that needs to be curtailed, please don't hesitate to speak up. :) I'm trying to make it even better using the feedback given by the reviewer, but I never know if I'm doing the right thing or not until someone tells me. BOZ (talk) 14:33, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately my life is keeping me busy right now, and while I'm squeezing in some time to make minor edits and reviews, looking at your extensive list of edits is a bit daunting. I do intend to review your edits (and anyone else's who has been in the article) and the article as a whole, but it may be a week or so until I can get to it. Thanks for all your work! — Alan De Smet | Talk 13:33, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem; I figured you were busy. :) BOZ (talk) 13:54, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please, if there's any help or insight you can provide into this problem with the Gary Gygax article, it would be appreciated. Thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 21:09, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great news! :) Gary Gygax is now a Good Article. I have now nominated Wizards of the Coast. BOZ (talk) 02:27, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wizards of the Coast is now up for GA review. If you're interested in helping, come join me. :) BOZ (talk) 21:46, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Have a look at what I've done so far. :) BOZ (talk) 04:38, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alan, any idea? I'm just wondering what info in there might be pertinent to the WotC article. BOZ (talk) 04:32, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Quest interactive fiction logo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Quest interactive fiction logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:50, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Support

You have been nominated for adminship and well, you have my support already for I think you are one fine editor and a constructive member of this beautiful website! I hope you'll be voted admin for I truly have a feeling you are up to the challenge. Besides: the rights of admins are extended and give you the ability to contribute more to wikipedia (including on pages you would normally not be able to do! Good luck and take care! J.B. Proposed deletion of Ioun stones

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
