Chanchal (Bengali: চঞ্চল) is a town in Malda District, West Bengal, India.

Geography

Chanchal is located at 25°23′N 87°59′E / 25.39°N 87.99°E / 25.39; 87.99.[1] Chanchal is the headquarters of the Chanchal subdivision. Also, the headquarters of the Chanchal–I CD block is here.[2]

Chanchal subdivision consists of six blocks Harishchandrapur–I, Harishchandrapur–II, Chanchal–I, Chanchal–II, Ratua–I and Ratua–II.[3] Chanchal come under the "Tal" region of the district.
