He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He played college football at West Virginia.

Jack Lawrence (born 1975 in Canterbury, Kent) is a British comics creator. Prior to 2002 he also worked as an animator.
McIntyre has also played for the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.

Early years
Biography
McIntyre attended Indiantown Middle School and South Fork High School.

Lawrence took a General Art and Design BTEC First Diploma at Canterbury Technical College, then went on to the KIAD at Canterbury to study for a BTEC National in the same subject. After becoming disenfranchised with art education, he then worked "regular" jobs in order to train himself in the field he wanted to be in. In 2000, he became a character animator for the U.K.-based Web design company Lightmaker. He worked there for three years before becoming a freelance artist.
College career
McIntyre played in 44 games at West Virginia, primarily as a defensive end and linebacker. He rushed three times for four yards as a fullback, and returned five kickoffs for 36 yards.

Lawrence came onto the comics scene with his own title, Darkham Vale, which he created, wrote, pencilled, inked and coloured. The series ran for a self-contained ten issues, which received acclaim, especially for a new creator and a small publisher.
Professional career
Philadelphia Eagles
McIntyre was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on April 26, 2002. He was waived by the Eagles on August 24, 2002. McIntyre was re-signed to the Eagles' practice squad on December 10, 2002, and allocated to the Frankfurt Galaxy to participate in the 2003 NFL Europa season on January 30, 2003. In Europe, he helped his team make it to the World Bowl and, in that game, had 12 carries for 76 yards. He was waived by the Eagles on September 1, 2003.

He went on to find success with Lions, Tigers and Bears, written by Mike Bullock and published by Image. A four-issue series, Lions, Tigers and Bears, was a surprise hit that revolved around a young boy and his stuffed animals.
Cleveland Browns
McIntyre was signed by the Cleveland Browns as a free agent on June 16, 2004. He was waived by the Browns on September 5, 2004, and signed to the team's practice squad on September 6, 2004. He played in fifteen games for the Browns during the 2005 season and started one.

Lawrence is now a successful freelance comics illustrator, working on titles such as A.T.O.M., Cartoon Network, Doctor Who Adventures, 2000 AD, Gogos Crazybones, and Spider-Man Tower of Power. He also works as a freelance toy designer.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints signed McIntyre in September 2006 after injuries to two of their fullbacks in the first week of play. He was waived on November.

Lawrence lives in Maidstone in Kent with his partner and two cats.
