Short Stack

Short Stack is an Australian rock/thrash/emo/electro band, formed in Budgewoi, New South Wales, in 2005. Its three members are Shaun Diviney (lead vocals, guitar), Andy Clemmensen (backing vocals, bass), and Bradie Webb (drums, keyboard).

History

Short Stack was formed in 2005, when its three members, Shaun Diviney, Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb met at Hunter School of the Performing Arts. That year, they entered Youthrock, a competition for school-based bands. Failing to pass the first round of the competition, the band became motivated to work harder, and subsequently placed 3rd when they entered in 2006. They also entered and won Battle of the Bands at Erina Youth Centre in 2006. Silhouette Effect have also played there.

In 2008, Short Stack was awarded Channel V's Oz Artist of the Year Award, beating other popular acts such as The Getaway Plan, The Living End, The Veronicas and Kisschasy[1].

On August 14, 2009, Short Stack played for MySpace Secret Shows on the Gold Coast, Queensland, and on the same date released their debut album, Stack Is The New Black. The band has released three singles, "Shimmy a Go Go"[2], "Princess", and "Sway, Sway Baby!". "Sway, Sway Baby!" debuted at number 2 on the ARIA singles chart, making it the highest ranking debut on the week of its release, but then dropped 25 places the next week.[3] Short Stack album "Stack is the New Black" became number one on the ARIA charts.
