August 2007

Residents of Defence Housing Authority (DHA), the most prestigious neighborhood of Karachi, wished to pay taxes to CDGK. They even praised City government's efforts to carry out relief operations in their area.[3]

The city government has started work on 3 multistoried parking plazas two in Saddar Town and one in Clifton area and these would be unique and one of its kind projects in Pakistan.[4]

Volunteer service

Mustafa Kamal also set up a volunteer service named "I own Karachi" to motivate youngsters and youths of Karachi towards providing services and helping the citizens. The project "I own Karachi" not succeeded the only intention behind this to mobilize a ethnic class of Karachi for their political motives. The clear example is community police of Karachi, the community police of Karachi is a group of a political workers paid by state. It is the only example in which all the tax payers paying salaries to the political workers.

Achievements

  • Foreign Policy hailed Mustafa Kamal as one of 2008's Mayors of the Moment, in reflection of his efforts to revitalize Karachi in the areas of its economy, environment and infrastructure. [7]
