I Am She–Miss Universe India

I Am She – Miss Universe India is a national beauty pageant, started in 2010, which sends its winner to the upcoming Miss Universe pageant. In 2010, Femina Miss India relinquished its patent to send the representative to Miss Universe, and, Tantra Entertainment Private limited, in collabration with former Miss Universe and popular Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, organized the pageant in the same year.

Sushmita Sen was Miss Universe 1994.

The first ever I Am She pageant was hosted by Rahul Khanna and former Miss India Universe, Neha Dhupia and co hosted by Ayushman Khurana. A whole lot of famous personalities from social, cultural and film fields participated in it, including, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ekta Choudhary, Harman Baweja , Suchitra Pillai , Koena Mitra,etc. The reigning Miss Universe, Stefania Fernandez crowned the first Miss Universe India, Ushoshi Sengupta. The judges for the show were Ace film director Farah Khan , Mr. K D Singh , writer Shobha De , Designer Malini Ramani , Actor Vivek Oberoi , cricketer Sreesanth and the reigning Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez. 30 contestants from different parts of the country participated. After the 1st round, the top 20 contestants were announced and in the next round, the top 10 contestants. Later, from the top 5 contestants, Ms. Sengupta emerged as the eventual winner.
