So far as I know, the above is no exception to the rule of plural vs singular usage, so I believe Omnedon is wrong, and wish he'd leave well enough alone. |

:The English language has all sorts of quirky subtleties. Square miles is a way to represent total area. Total area is singular. "The area of a rectangle '''''is'''''..." Kaki joe
New user Kaki joe may be a problem. He/she changed population data in the Tajik people article without citation and to values that do not comport with other sources. He/she, although the account is newly created, made a very sophisticated edit at Afghan refugees, here adding a name in Pashto and calling a script template.
