== Bodypump - Bodybalance Response ==

I posted a number of issues here regarding my entries on Bodypump and Bodybalance. I have been ignored and none of my responses have been addressed.

They concern that the articles were advertising. I personally consider that the entries were informative and that Jnothman has not even bothered to respond back to me regarding this issue.

So can you tell me why they were deleted?

In addition why would you consider them to be advertising?

thanks at the help desk!

Thanks a lot, Jnothman. Here is the new article subsisting on its own. [1] Feels good to resuscitate a dead article. Thanks again. Thomas S. Major 08:15, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey,

Yeah Im a old Netzer Boger, former Federal Merakez etc etc.

Phillip Knightley

Joel: May I contribute a biography of the multi-award winning journalist and non-fiction writer, Phillip Knightley?--88.106.69.38 04:03, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nigel Wooll

Joel: Nigel Wooll was the first movie producer to use "morphing" in a feature film (Willow). Worth a short biog?--88.106.69.38 04:03, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Talk: Jnothman

Joel: How long does the user talk stay on this page after an entry is up? I refer to my biog. It seems strange that when one does a Google search for a name, the entry appears and so does the "chatter". In fact if you do a Yahoo search for my entry, you only get the your Usertalk. I guess using Oxford University's databases for years, it just seems unprofessional. Bemister --88.106.69.38 04:01, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know whether to reply on my talk page, at User talk:88.106.69.38 or user talk:Bemister, so I might do all three.
haha! I didn't notice that Google thing... It seems the reason it does that is that my talk page has a lot of links to it, so Google sees it as an important page (it has a lot of links to it because it gets another everytime I sign a comment on another talk page). I have been meaning to archive the content here for a while, I just haven't got around to it. Once I do and Google updates, it's less likely to come up in a search for your name. Sorry about that!
As to your questions of Phillip Knightley and Nigel Wooll:
  • I am no expert on the fields of either of these individuals and so would not know of their notability, or the significance of '"morphing" in a feature film' for instance. It is possible, however, to find a group of more expert Wikipedians, by looking for a relevant WikiProject. In this case, WikiProject Films and WikiProject Journalism may be relevant, and you could ask there on their talk pages.
  • You don't need to ask before creating articles. Simply click links to Phillip Knightley or Nigel Wooll, research (find sources, but do not copy verbatim) and start typing (cite the sources). For autobiographies, though, we may be a little pickier, which is why you went through the village pump.
  • One of the best ways to test whether a subject is notable is by writing the article and finding out if anyone proposes it for deletion! Or propose it yourself for deletion, voting to keep the article, and hope that others agree!
  • I can definitely say that Phillip Knightley deserves an article. He qualifies as an author of many wide-circulation books, as well as for his awards and general fame in journalism. As for Nigel Wooll, I am less convinced, but he does have an extensive Hollywood portfolio. You may first, though, extend the comment on the first use of morphing at the article on Willow.

Joel: I'll do Phillip Knightley next week. I know him very well. Bemister--80.47.62.124 18:53, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dalida 06:59, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you be able to have a stab at translating this for me? commons:User:Pfctdayelise/Translations I find he: pretty scary to edit, if I'm armed with some Hebrew it might be better. :) Ta, pfctdayelise 07:53, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Many many thanks! pfctdayelise 10:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shalom! Just dropping a note to let you know - I have redirected the abovementioned title to History of the Jews in Australia, which is currently filled with the text imported from the public domain Jewish Encyclopedia and thus its coverage ends abruptly at the start of the 20th century. I trust that you will do a superb job of updating the article when you find the time. Thanks, Defrosted 11:00, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thank you for pointing out the template bibleverse, and making my userpage better Jon513 14:31, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Honi Soit

Do you want to write it together? I think to merit its publication in Honi Soit, it'll need to discuss WP in general in addition to the politics of an online community (Honi is a very political newspaper and they probably don't accept any material that isn't) and WP's involvement with Usyd (Andrew Quah, the persistently annoying SRC pest candidate, has inserted inappropriate links in the past, for example). It should be ok to collate notes and write/edit the article in a user subpage here on WP - perhaps you'd like to stub out a possible structure sometime?

As a side note, the Honi Soit article itself is barebones, and discusses more politics than newspaper. It might be a good idea to get that fixed up (or at least the University of Sydney article) before submitting stuff to Honi, to demonstrate what kind of quality articles you can find on WP.

A slight problem is where to find info. While Fisher keeps copies of Honi Soit, there's no real book about Honi. The book I've got out at the moment ([2]) is, as the title suggests, brief. As a contrast, the book on everything you'd ever want to know about the University of Sydney ([3]) is excessively long. Might be worth a peek though. enochlau (talk) 05:29, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
