Cotendo, Inc. is a content delivery network[1] and an application delivery network[2] service provider. The company's headquarters are in Sunnyvale, California, with research and development based in Netanya, Israel.

Cotendo provides whole-site[3] web site acceleration services to content publishers by aggregating user requests through a global network of data centers. Cotendo-developed proxy server software[4] integrates object caching for static web site content such as images, along with technology that optimizes the network connection from provider to user for dynamic web content such as database-generated pages.[5][6] Cotendo also provides DNS services that can allocate content provider web traffic among multiple CDN providers.[7]

Services

Cotendo provides a integrated suite of CDN and Site Acceleration services.Built on an agile, intelligent platform with unified proxy delivery, Cotendo’s CDN and Site Acceleration Suite delivers transformative Whole Site Acceleration that makes a business impact. Highly integrated and based on patent-pending software, it enables you to instantly implement individual services or a fully integrated solution in minutes, with no changes to your existing Web architecture. Key services include:

Cotendo Dynamic Site Acceleration (DSA) enables you to maximize the performance of dynamic websites and Web applications. It speeds delivery of non-cacheable dynamic content, increases efficiency and reduces origin server loads.

Cotendo Content Delivery provides high-performance, cost-effective global delivery of cacheable Web content such as images, media objects and static HTML. It significantly improves the end-user experience while giving you delivery flexibility and scale.

Cotendo SSL enables high-performance HTTPS delivery of personalized website and Web application content via Cotendo’s global network, reducing your origin server loads. Easy to deploy, it requires no changes to your Web architecture and supports both self-signed certificates and Cotendo shared certificates.

Cotendo CDN Balancer empowers you to orchestrate a multi-CDN strategy, for resiliency, expense control and business agility. You can precisely allocate content distribution across your own delivery resources, Cotendo Content Delivery or other CDNs, based on geography, capacity and real-time conditions.

Cotendo Advanced DNS (Domain Name Service) reduces latency, scales seamlessly for every audience size and geography, and enhances service availability. Cotendo’s distributed service model provides another layer of security for your website and web applications. DNS queries can be flexibly handled based on rules (location, time) and real-time conditions.

Cotendo Site Assure monitors your core websites and Web applications 24/7, providing automatic fail over services to guarantee business-critical uptime while minimizing the impact on end-user experience. A fully redundant, globally distributed monitoring system, it includes sophisticated tracking for making ongoing availability improvements.

Cotendo SEO Analytics collects real-time data on all search-engine-crawler HTTP requests to the Cotendo CDN, giving you critical information for fixing website performance issues and directing crawlers to poorly indexed sections that could be degrading search engine rankings.

Cotendo Real Time (RT) Reporting empowers you to evaluate and respond quickly to content performance. Logs and historical data provide the visibility of short- and long-term trends in Web traffic. An integrated reporting platform gives you the control you need to manage delivery on a granular level, with a resolution accuracy interval of minutes.
