Roger F. Wendt (December 31, 1933-March 30, 2011) was a Democratic member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 2nd District since 2002.

Wendt received his BA from Wayne State College, his MA from the University of South Dakota, and his Ed.D. from the University of South Dakota.[1]

Wendt was elected in 2002, and re-elected in 2006 with 4,212 votes, running unopposed.[2] In 2008 he won reelection by a margin of only 280 votes over his Republican opponent Rick Bertrand.[3]

Until he stepped down, Wendt served on several committees in the Iowa House - the Judiciary committee; the State Government committee; the Ways and Means committee; and the Education committee, where he is chair.

He stepped down on February 1, 2010 due to serious illness[4] and died on March 30, 2011 from lung cancer.[5]
