Nica Noelle is the stage name of an American pornographic actress and adult film director, as well as a sex columnist for Hustler magazine. She is the co-founder of adult film companies Sweetheart Video and Sweet Sinner (both of which have won numerous awards);[3][4][5] and she is in the works of creating a third adult film company, Sweet Sinema.

Career

Pre-adult film career and acting

Noelle began her career at the age of 19, working at a psychodrama house in New York City.[6] She was also a stripper until the age of 30.[7] Afterwards, she became a mainstream journalist and newspaper reporter, and was the editor for Private Dancer Magazine. She began performing in adult films after writing for Spread magazine;[6] She had an assignment to write about the making of a fetish video, so she performed in a spanking-themed video for Kelly Payne of Tantrum Trainers, where she received an extreme spanking. She enjoyed the experience and decided to take another offer to perform in a g/g video. She acted exclusively in girl/girl films until her first b/g scene with Manuel Ferrara in Sweetheart Video's "Angel" in 2008 (only the softcore version of this scene was released.) She has said she finds it easier to respond sexually to women than to men and prefers to work with women on camera.

As director

Several of Noelle’s acting performances were done for lesbian-themed film company Girlfriends Films; she went on to also write and direct for the company in 2007 when the owner told her he needed a “female front” for the company.[7] A year after leading the studio to mainstream success by casting legendary porn stars in the "amateur-like" videos, she and business partner Jonathan Blitt of Mile High Media created rival lesbian film company Sweetheart Video, as well as heterosexual couples-themed film company Sweet Sinner. Both companies are distributed through Mile High Media (which Blitt also owns). Noelle received an AVN Award nomination for Director of the Year in 2010, while Sweetheart Video has gone on to win several AVN Awards as well, including Most Watched Studio.[8] She does not cast porn actresses that are gay-for-pay in films for Sweetheart Video; she says the actors have to be lesbian or bisexual in real life because she feels “real lesbians want to see real lesbians.”[5]

In 2011 she began production on films for her most recent company, Sweet Sinema, also owned by Jon Blitt of Mile High Media. However, in November 2011 she parted ways with Mile High Media and signed a new deal with adult VOD website AEBN for the creation of a new girl/girl studio Girl Candy Films and feature boy/girl studio Hard Candy Films.[9]

Personal life

Noelle identifies as bisexual. She was previously in a relationship with former pornographic actress Satine Phoenix.[5][10] Noelle has stated that her busy schedule does not allow her time to have a normal personal life,[11] and her top priority is making movies and talking to her fans.[9] However, on her Twitter account ("@NicaNoelle") she often refers to a long-standing sexual relationship with a younger male artist and painter, whom she declines to name.

Awards

  • 2010 Feminist Porn Award – Sexiest Straight Movie – The Deviant[12]
  • 2010 AVN Award nominee – Director of the Year (Body of Work)[3]
