"Major Minus"
Song

"Major Minus" is a song by british rock band Coldplay and the eight track off their 5th studio album Mylo Xyloto[1]. Recorded in 2009 and early 2010, it was first performed at the 2011 Rock Am Ring festival in Nuremburg, Germany on June 4th, 2011.[2] It was then released 3 weeks later on June 23, originally as the B-Side to Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall[3], and with companion track, Moving To Mars on the Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall EP on June 27.[4] Finally, it was released as part of the album on October 24.

Q magazine published in their preview of Mylo Xyloto:[5]

"Beginning with the jagged strum of a detuned acoustic guitar, Major Minus sounds like the bitter flipside of God Put A Smile On Your Face. Chris Martin's vocals sounding like they were recorded in a seedy phonebox, the "they got one eye on the road/ And one on you" chorus delivered amidst guitar shards and a kinetic percussive groove. One of the most immediate songs on the album, and the most darkly playful thing they've done since Daylight."
