Barney: A trendy guy that pretends to know how to surf, or poses as a surfer is also referred as a "Barney." This group frequents "Tilly's" or "Pac-Sun" for their shopping of mass produced "surfer-label" clothing. They may also claim to surf, but are never observed in the act. These people may also employ surf decals on the back of their trendy SUVs or VWs. In the rare case they do, infact, own a surfboard, it is always in pristine condition, naked of wax, usually mounted on a wall in their surf poster-filled apartment or room in parent's house. Also known as "Kook."
