Jonathan Drouin (born March 28, 1995)[2] is a Canadian ice hockey forward who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was selected by Lightning in the 1st round (3rd overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. If Drouin is cut from the Lightning during the 2013-14 NHL season, he will return to the Halifax Mooseheads of the [[Quebec Major Junior Hockey League].[3]

Drouin was selected second overall by the Mooseheads in the 2011 QMJHL entry draft.[4] After starting the 2011–12 season at the Midget AAA level with Lac St. Louis, it was announced on December 9, 2011 that Drouin would join the Mooseheads.[5] In his first QMJHL game, against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Drouin recorded two assists including setting up the game winning goal.[6] Drouin was also a key member of Halifax's 2012 playoff success, most notably scoring the overtime winning goal in game 7 against the Quebec Remparts.[7]

Drouin won a gold medal at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament as a member of Team Canada's under-18 team.[13] He later represented Canada's under-20 team, along with Mooseheads teammate Nathan MacKinnon, at the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Ufa, Russia, where Canada finished 4th.[14]
