The Squamish Valley Music Festival (pronounced (/ˈskwɔːmɪʃ/), previously LIVE at Squamish, is an annual music festival co-produced by Vancouver-based brand.LIVE Management group and Live Nation Canada, and held in Squamish, British Columbia Canada over the second weekend in August . Attendance has increased rapidly over the 4-year period of operations, with over 18.000/day attending in 2013. Local businesses have benefited from the annual influx of attendees[1] and the district has recently signed an 8-year contract extension while confirming a new daily capacity of 35,000, making it the largest annual contemporary music festival in the Pacific Northwest.

History

The festival began in 2010, and has attracted headlining artists including Bad Religion, Metric, The Tragically Hip, Childish Gambino, Weezer, Matthew Good, City and Colour, Girl Talk, Vampire Weekend, Queens of the Stone Age, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Pretty Lights. The festival continues to grow year over year with 13,000 total attendees in 2010, 17,000 in 2011, over 22,000 in 2012 43,000 in 2013 and is expected to top 100,000 for 2014.
