Ahmad Hussain ([] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: no text (help)) was born in the city of Sheffield in November 1981 and is a Muslim singer/song writer and producer of Kashmiri descent.

Early Life

Ahmad Hussain was raised in the city of Sheffield, England and from a very young age he would actively get involved in media related projects.

Ahmad went on to produce many underground singles and in 2003 he released a fusion album entitled "Emotions" on the Muzic Asia record label, the album was a blend of Eastern meets Western musical influences and was a breakthrough to the mainstream music scene, an opportunity Ahmad had been anticipating and searching for.

It was at this crucial stage in his career that he was met with a life changing event, his 28 year old sister Shazia Hussain had tragically collapsed and died whilst participating in a sporting event in Middlesbrough, Ahmad decided that he would no longer associate himself with the music industry.

Career

In December 2005 Ahmad decided to set up Iqra Promotions, a medium by which he could serve the community and promote artists and events that would help tackle social issues and promote a better understanding of his faith.

In 2006 Ahmad met with Nasheed artist Kamal Uddin who signed to the Iqra promotions label and Ahmad went on to produce Kamal Uddin voice only album Illallah.

In 2008 Ahmad released his debut single Aye Khuda [1] after receiving positive feedback Ahmad went on to work on his debut album and in 2010, Ahmad released I Turn To You, a thought provoking album with Nasheeds in multiple languages including Arabic, Urdu and English.

Ahmad went on to release two singles and videos in 2013, "Ya Taiba" which is a traditional Nasheed and "My Beloved" a heartfelt tribute to his mother who was sadly diagnosed with cancer in early 2013, notably the video was shot in the Cheshire home of ex Take That member Gary Barlow.

In 2014 Ahmad released his long awaited follow up album entitled My Beloved [2]

Notable performances, Tours and collaborations

As well as volunteering as an ambassador and performing for various charitable organisations including Islamic Relief's Evening of Inspiration Tour in 2012 [3], Ahmad has performed in South Africa [4] ,Turkey, Dubai, Netherlands, Pakistan and has toured the USA numerous times including a headline performance at the ICNA convention in 2014 [5]

Ahmad has also performed at the Global Peace and Unity festival at the Excel Arena in London [6]

More recently Ahmad performed at the Human Appeal International Sounds of Light event, which successfully raised over half a million pounds for charity. [7]

As well as having featured in various lifestyle magazines [8] Ahmad has also performed live on BBC Radio [9] and has had the opportunity to share the stage with renowned artists and personalities such as Maher Zain, Outlandish, Native Deen and the daughter of the late Malcolm X, Attallah Shahbaz.
