LBC Express, Inc. (previously known as Luzon Brokerage Company) is a courier company based in the Philippines.

It operates scheduled commercial vehicle cargo services in currently and planned cargo airline services begin on May 31, 2014. As of 2009, LBC has over 1,020 branches in the Philippines, and over 60 branches in the United States and Canada.[1] It also has branches in Hong Kong, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Spain, South Korea and Taiwan.

History

Luzon Brokerage Company was founded by Carlos Linggoy Araneta in the 1945 as a brokerage firm. With the help of his sons Juan Carlos, Santiago, and Fernando, Araneta expanded their family owned business and ventured into an air cargo agent and later as a forwarding service provider to clients. As a third party shipping provider, the company is responsible for dispatching shipments via asset-based carriers and arranges shipment space for their customers. The company continue to expand their logistic services and introduced the 24-hour or overnight delivery services in the country later on. [2] [1]

In 1985, The first branch of LBC outside the country was established in San Francisco, California, United States.Along with the opening of its US-based branch, the company introduced the famous “Balikbayan Box” and their money remittance service to cater to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). [1]

From personal services, the company also expand their reach and target business owners who are in need to delivery and logistic services.

Milestones

1945: The Luzon Brokerage Corporation is founded, specializing on domestic and international cargo transport and business-to-business liaison.

1973: LBC introduces the convenience of 24-hour door-to-door delivery.

1985: LBC opens up shop in San Francisco, California and introduces courier, Balikbayan Box, and money remittance services.

1990: LBC earned the monicker “Hari ng Padala.”

2005: LBC Express introduced the Branch Pick-up and Bills Payment service facilities.

2010: LBC celebrates its 60th year in operation by expanding capabilities to include logistics services for both loose cargo and container loads for businesses. A new Mail service is launched as well to respond to people’s need for a more secure channel for moving personal documents.

2013: LBC Express rebranded its image and most of its collaterals. The company changed its slogan from “Hari ng Padala” to “We like to move it.” The shipping company also reprised its logo to suit the new branding.
