Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School, also referred to by the acronym DMLMHS, is a public national high school in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines.
History
Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School began as a city high school during the incumbency of then-Mayor Natalio G. Velez (1968-1986). At that time, the school was located near the Silay South Elementary School. It was envisioned to accommodate poor but deserving elementary school graduates and consequently offered free tuition.[1]
The school later became known as the Silay City National High School. After the donation of a parcel of land was made by the affluent Lopez family for the new school edifice, the school was renamed in honor of Doña Montserrat Lopez.[1]
Present
As the years go by the school was been officially one of the talented and the greatest school in the year 2014, hence the school has won the most aggressive and has the more students in Silay City. The school is the first public schools that handle the Mathematics Educational Achievement in Negros Occidental because of its nice and more resources in the province.
In the year 2015, the school won for the Gulayan Sa Paaralan that handle by Department of Education in the Philippines. The school has the total of 45 different kinds of plants and trees that it is the cause of their winnings.
Wilfredo Hermosura as the principal of the school, he was graduated at Riverside College in Bacolod City. He graduated as a Bachelor Degree of Doctors at Riverside Medical Center. The principal is so much dependent because of the rules that the school has. Many students like the Principal because of its neatly preparation of the school for all the visitors that the school will be handle. From now on the school has only 3 major curriculum and those are the STVEP, ICT and the STE/ESEP.
