Nicole Arbour is a Canadian musician, actress, choreographer, dancer, and comedian from Hamilton, Ontario.

Career

Arbour is a former cheerleader for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association.[1] As an actress, Arbour appeared in Howie Do It,[2] and Silent But Deadly.[1] In September 2015, Arbour became the subject of controversy when she posted a viral video on her YouTube channel entitled "Dear Fat People."[3] Arbour pokes fun at the notion that obesity is analogous to race, disability, and sexual orientation. Critics argue the video endorses fat shaming.[4] The video was temporarily unavailable on YouTube,[5] over claims that it violated the YouTube terms of service, but was later restored.[6] Director Pat Mills fired Arbour from an upcoming movie after seeing the video.[7] On September 10, 2015, Arbour, via Twitter denied ever having any form of involvement in the film. [8] Arbour's single "Bang Bang" was released on April 30, 2013.[1] In June 2015, her single and music video to "Fun Revolution" was released.

Personal life

Arbour dated Matt Webb of Marianas Trench.[1]

On September 9, 2015, YouTuber Rob Dyke appeared on the Todd Shapiro Show on SiriusXM Radio and claimed that Matthew Santoro reported being physically abused and manipulated by Nicole Arbour during their relationship. During the same conversation, Rob Dyke made reference to a situation in which Santoro had contacted Dyke via a phone call, in which Santoro allegedly told Dyke of a situation in which Arbour threatened suicide in order to harm Santoro's career if he did not do as he was told.[9] Arbour has since refuted the allegations.[10]
