Evelyn Lakshmi Sharma is a German-Indian actress and model.[1]
Early life and background
Evelyn Sharma was born in Frankfurt, Germany[2][3] to a Punjabi father and German mother.[4][5] She studied Business and modeled for cosmetic brands in the UK, after which she headed East to make a career in Bollywood films. Besides acting in films, she currently running a non profit organisation "SeamsForDreams"[6]and also started her own web series "One Day In Evelyn's Life".[7]
Career
She began her acting career with a bit part in the 2006 British film Turn Left.[8] In 2012, Sharma made her Bollywood debut playing the role of Lubaina Snyder in the film From Sydney with Love.[9] The following year, she featured in the blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and as well as her performance was praised in Nautanki Saala and Issaq.[10] In 2014, she played the role of Janet D'Souza in the sleeper hit Yaariyan.[11] In May 2015, she appeared in Devang Dholakia's Kuch Kuch Locha Hai opposite Navdeep Chabbra, Sunny Leone and Ram Kapoor and is slated to release on May 8, 2015. The film met with negative reviews and was a box office flop. She then featured in Ishqedarriyaan, opposite Mahaakshay Chakraborty released on May 29, 2015 where she played de-glam role for the first time in her career stating that it is her first solo lead film and called it her "debut film".[12]
In August 2014, she featured in Brooklyn Shanti's single Something Beautiful. She has also done a travel show titled Life Mein Ek Baar.[13]
