Josephine Kasalamwa Wapakhabulo, also Josephine Wapakabulo Thomas, is a Ugandan electrical engineer and business executive. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda National Oil Company. She was appointed in June 2016, being the first person to serve in that position.[2][3]

Background and education

She was born circa 1978.[1] She is the daughter of Angelina Wapakhabulo and the late James Wapakhabulo. She studied at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, as an electrical and electronics engineer, obtaining a BSc, an MSc and a PhD[1] in the field. She also holds an MBA from the INSEAD Business School in France.[2]

Career

Prior to her present assignment, she was employed at Rolls-Royce Limited, in Derby, United Kingdom, as a process specialist in information management and decision support. She previously worked as a technologist at he same come company, in their Strategic Research Centre.[4] She was named to her present appointment by the Board of UNOC, in June 2016.[5]
