He was born in Virginia in 2002.[1]

He became known by posting lipsynching videos on Musical.ly. He is also a popular user on Vine. He was part of a group called MAGCON in which he toured with other popular Vine users.[2]

In 2016, his single "Sweatshirt" charted on the Billboard Hot 100.[3][4]

He was involved in a controversy in which a fan posted screenshots on Twitter which showed that he allegedly pressured her to him nudes via Facebook. A representative for Satorious responded by claiming that it was done by an impostor, saying that "The alleged messaging from Jacob's Facebook account took place on January 29, 2016.
