Jacob Sartorius is an American Internet personality and singer.

He was born as Rolf Jacob Sartorius in Herndon, Virginia on October 2, 2002.[1]

Career

He gained a following online by posting videos of himself lipsynching to popular songs on musical.ly. He had accumulated millions of followers across various social media sites by the age of 13.[1] On Twitter, he is known for his use of emojis and motivational messages towards fans.[2] His first Vine video was posted on August 14, 2014 and it spoke out against bullying.[3] In January 2016 he joined a group called MAGCON (Meet and Greet Convention), a tour where fans can meet and interact with Internet personalities, as a special guest.[4]

On May 3, 2016, he released his first single "Sweatshirt", which charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100.[5] As of July 2016, the song peaked at #81 in Canada and #90 in the United States.[6]

In June 2016, he signed with United Talent Agency, making him their first client whose primary platform is musical.ly.[7] He is also signed to T3 Music Group.[8]

Personal life

He has an older sister named Caroline who is a college student.[9]
