The twins were separated at an early age. The younger brother is now the number two guy for a crime gang and the older brother is a detective. Sung Hoon (born Bang Sung-hoon on February 14, 1983) is a South Korean actor.[1][2] Sung Hoon was a member of the national swim team and specialized in the butterfly. He swam on the team for 14 years but had to quit because of a spinal injury, he decided to take a break from swimming and enlisted in the military, but the same injury sent him home early. Sung Hoon debuted as an actor in 2011 with New Tales of Gisaeng without any modeling or acting experience, he decided to audition for it and landed the lead role.[3]

Career

Sung Hoon's breakthrough role in New Tales of Gisaeng he portrayed a character of an arrogant chaebol Ah Da Moo who was excellent in sports, business, women and popularity. His acting in this drama earned him an SBS Acting award for the Best New Actor in 2011.

In 2012 he acted in his first Chinese drama The Bodygaurd. His character was of a Security chief named Guo Xu. The same year he acted in Faith as Chun Eum-ja, a villainous white-haired man with a deadly flute. Later that year he was cast in the drama The Birth of a Family as a businessman named Han Ji-hoon. He was once again cast as a lead character, a chaebol named Kang Moo Yool in 2013 in the drama Passionate Love. In 2014, Sung Hoon acted in a web drama 6 Persons Room. His character Min Soo, a successful businessman and womaniser until he suffers an injury and finds himself in a hospital surrounded by strange patients. [4]

His popularity arose with the mini series in 2015 Noble, My Love, which he played yet another chaebol named Lee Kang Hoon who is a CEO of world's largest company D.O.L's Korean branch. One day, he is kidnapped and dramatically escapes from the bad guys but he bleeds so much that he blackouts in front of one animal hospital. Yoon Seo, a veterinarian, finds him and cures him. This fame led him to be chosen to his next project Oh My Venus where he plays a professional boxer Jang Joon-sung trained by John Kim (played by So Ji-sub), his alias is "Korean Snake." He used to be an orphan but John Kim gladly took him as his student and trained him to become a successful boxer. [5]
