Fox's illustrations vary significantly as far as her subjects are concerned. She draws people, fictional characters, animals and other miscellaneous things she finds interesting. Though the subjects vary, her art does have some consistent themes. Nature is incorporated in a significant amount of her published works, if it is not the direct subject she often finds ways of incorporating it such as adding flowers or a tree to compliment a portrait. Fox's style is easily identifiable as she works predominantly in black, white and gray with very fine line work. Introduction

Langley Fox is an american Illustrator and Model (person) based out of Silver Lake, California. Fox is the daughter of actress Mariel Hemingway and documentary filmmaker Stephen Crisman, but is most popularly known as the great-granddaughter of author Ernest Hemingway[1]. She found her passion early on, and was supported by her creative family to express herself in any way she desired. She soon found a love for illustration and the visual form.[2]

Career

After graduating from Otis College of Art and Design[3], Fox pursued illustration full-time. She became especially well known for her photorealistic pencil drawings. Her subjects vary, but her inspiration mostly comes from her childhood in Ketchum, Idaho. “I feel that most of my deep thoughts and ethics come from Idaho. My style comes from anything that I’m attracted to, that could be old icons, people on the street, to made-up characters in my mind.”[4]

Around the beginning of Fox’s career as an artist, she also developed an interest in the fashion industry and decided to work part-time as a model. She has modeled for Alice+Olivia, Louis Vuitton[5] , Marc Jacobs amongst others. She went on to produce original artwork for one of Marc Jacobs’ projects and collaborating with companies like Tl-180 and Elkin.[6]
