He is the chairman of the Dalmia Group of Companies, a Delhi-based global business conglomerate and continues to head its charitable trusts.[1][2] At the age of 73, Dalmia is an active participant in national and global seminars that hold talks on banking, finance, taxation and industrial developments with focus on the Indian environment. The septuagenarian is associated with major trade organizations like the PHD Chamber of Commerce and FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry). Early life

Sanjay Dalmia is the son of Vishnu Hari Dalmia. He schooled in Delhi, at the Modern School for secondary education.[5] He graduated with Economics (Hons) from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.[6]

GHCL

GHCL(Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited), the flagship company of The Sanjay Dalmia Group, acquired two global companies in 2005. Mr. Dalmia acquired a soda ash unit in Europe, and a home textiles company in USA. Considered a big achievement in the Indian business scenario, the GHCL acquisition marked its footprints on foreign shores. [7]
