YGE which specializes in hip-hop and R&B has the most westernish sound out of the three big companies in South Korea.[4] Jennie likes this rather "dark" image, this is is why she wanted to work for YGE right from the start in case she aimed to become a celebrity.[5] In 2010 she moved back to South Korea and participated in an audition held by YGE.
